Amazon does not have any stores and I doubt they would want to own any. They are expensive to operate which imo is the issue, not the cost to purchase RSH, which would be no problem. I can see Amzn eventually creating their own door to door delivery system (similar to UPS or FDX), since they have already a manufacturer to warehouse distribution and only the last leg (from warehouse to the customers door) is missing.

I think it is dangerous to afix the value proposition to with hope for a takeover whenever a business model seems to be failing.
