You see both Democrats and Republicans got it wrong.We need to spend more and tax less for now.I would increase taxes on top 0.5% by a new bracket for those with over a million in yearly earning and tax capital gains and dividends at normal income rates. We should then do away with SS taxes and drop all tax rates to make it a net tax decrease.Only when inflation (wage not commodity) returns would we deal with raising taxes and cutting spendingAt that time,.I would never restart SS tax but cover all SS and medicare/health with a VAT tax all pay.All other areas of government spending would be covered by taxes on the wealthiest.All Americans would pay VAT and have a stake in its rise or fall.A politician who promises a lower SS age would have to tell you how much they would raise VAT.SS and medical care coverage could easily be decided at the ballot box by all Americans
