william, never listen to analysts'. only use of them i use is to occasionally invert their recommendations. for example, 'upgrade from buy to strong buy' means wait a week and buy some puts!, and 'downgrade from strong buy to hold', means wait 2 days, then buy some calls or go long.

that pretty much sums up what i hold dear about analysts. one of the best places for scouring for future prospects is in the yahoo downgrade list.

I haven't looked, but it wouldn't suprise me if the brokerages of the 'analysts' (and I use the term loosely) are either directly involved or are salivating at the possibility of getting involved into selling any of the inevitable AMZN secondary offerings coming down the road.

You also the the 'momentum' oriented analysts using their voodoo to justify AMZN's market cap.
