Thanks Karen!

Since I heard and felt a distinct "pop" when I fell, and now if I twist my knee it hurts pretty bad, I went to the doc today just to get his opinion. It is feeling somewhat better and he said since I'm doing so well, i could wait it out and keep doing what I've been doing rest, ice, compression and elevate (RICE) and see how that goes, or I could get an MRI and know absolutely what is going on. Since it really hurts if I twist my knee, I've decided to get the MRI and set up an appt at 10:20 tomorrow morning. I hate not knowing what is going on and am proactive about treatment once I do. The swelling has come way down......not that there was that much to begin with because I'm being pretty anal about icing , which I do every hour or so for 20:00 to 25:00 minutes at a time, but that sharp pain when I step wrong is not a good sign imo.

After I saw the doc I ran into a younger lady at Trader Joes who was getting around on crutches. I said "skiing accident" and she said "yes.......broken femur, torn ACL and meniscus." It made me realize I'm very lucky that my injury isn't worse, and thankful too.

So...............I'll know much more next week after the doc gets a chance to look at the results of the MRI. In the mean time I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing including go to my caucus on Saturday to vote .
