chu does not need to have energy dept spend any money on research of cng tanks for cars. 3M and chesapeake energy announced a week or two ago they are making a Cheaper cng tank that is 20% smaller and 20% more capacity than the current cng tank. curiously the cng tank of a ng engine system is the most expensive part of the system, i.e., currently more expensive than the engine! 3M is doing the work with its technology, and chesapeake is funding it with $10M of its money. this will be ready at the end of 2012, and chk will put the tanks in its big fleet of cng trucks and cars.

Chu to Congress: We’re not interested in lowering gas prices

Why should he be interested?
Both Chu and Obama travel in government paid limos and aircraft.
