" If you were trying to be really rational, the most logical choice is to suspend both belief and disbelief- since there is no proof of God, and no way to disprove God either - and you could bring up Pascal's wager, but that, imo, is just insulting to any deity you used it with."

I think that's correct, and the only correct view to hold is agnostic. I see many religious people on the right seeing their religion as their "team" and competing religions as other teams. Beat the Muslims, rah rah rah! A tradition straight out of religious wars.

Which brings up Romney, who's not on their "team" either, by most of their lights. Romney seems to be willing to play for any team that will get him elected - maybe that's enough.

I think most atheists would say they simply believe there is no god per se, and not that they know.

Yes, Pascal Wager is insulting-lol.

When the right and left debate you will notice it is easy to bring up issues the right will get defenseive about, but not on the left. The left will usually say they are wrong, don't know or disagree. I seldom see liberals get defensive.

And there are few fights on left wing threads, but not on right wing threads. We liberals generally discuss things-lol.
