Since that time I have been encouraged by many vets to scrub my service record for reasons to apply for disability and called stupid for not doing it. Mind, this is all anecdotal, I have no idea if it is wide spread. Nor do I know how much it clogs the system. I'm not sure just how pervasive it is either. Yet, I remember being encouraged to do the same thing while I was going through TAPS both by friends and counselors, so it's probably common practise. My hearing got dinged among a few other things but I didn't feel that comfortable about putting in for disability.... I haven't had any trouble with Tricare yet.....knock on wood.
