Foundry biz hot?
The foundry biz in the Far East is running hot again. After a bitter price war and lackluster demand earlier this year, prices have stabilized and bookings are surging for the three biggest: Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg., United Microelectronics, and Singapore's Chartered Semiconductor Mfg. TSMC has already revised its forecast for this year, Mark LaPedus reports in EBN.
It raised its net profit estimate by 18% to $548M and sales by 8% to $1.38B. TSMC's fabs are currently running at full capacity, keeping its gross-profit margin above 40%, says ING Barings' Donald Floyd. Its fabs are expected to run full bore into next year.

Interesting, thank you. It looks like some of the test equipment manufacturers may also benefit if that story unfolds.
