That Pew poll is about the degree to which self identified "scientists" see themselves as "liberal", not about the degree to which aging is coincidental with growing more "liberal."

A good study on that might be hard to find since it's fairly difficult to separate cohort effects from aging effects. But, to do it right, it would require that data be collected longitudinally.
