You are asking me why the public opinion polls currently show that the Bush name is unpopular nationally?

Well, I can't answer for 'the public', just note what the polls say.

Believe that you are probably correct though: much of the public on the national stage actually knows little or nothing about Jeb... his positions, what he sounds like, etc., etc.

So it must simply be the name.
