When I was in Ottawa, the wife worked with the embassies. A Brit told her that Canada was a democratic, socialist dictatorship. Democratic because we get to vote and speak our minds, socialist because we all want to be taken care of and are (on the whole), and a dictatorship because our government does what it wants after the fact and we are not really consulted - they don't even beg forgiveness. I also want to meet the 1000 or so people who respond to all the polls that our politicians rely on for direction of our country, I'm not one of them. I went for a tour of the parliament buildings a few years ago and asked why we can't impeach our politicians. There is an info centre that told me that it's because we have "responsible government", and as such what happens because one is an elected official, or says in the house, keeps our politicians out of this type of hot water. Voters who do not take the time to be informed that is their choice but a voter who is purposely miss lead as where to go vote is subversion of democracy and should be treated as crime.As for the party(or parties) that think this kind of U.S. style crap is acceptable in Canada should be prosecuted and if approved by said party then the party dis banded. (venting...i know it will not happen) Even in our whacky disjointed ill informed dumb voter country i have no tolerance for those who wish to destroy our hope of sustaining somewhat of a democracy which relies on the principle of a free unencumbered vote even if it means they vote in another nut in a long line of other nuts. I also find it hard to believe any group would be that stupid.What other crap is being pulled to keep information from being public. ....anyway good vid....off to ski and enjoy the weekend.
