The absurdity of government REQUIRING contracts between insurance companies and their customers to cover ANYTHING would have been quite sufficient grounds to fight this nonsense. By falling into the religious freedom trap (and it IS a clear violation of fundamental rights on that basis alone) the Reps ceded the issue to the Pope. It was stupid.
