I recall - I think - that Steve Wynn once divorced Elaine, and then they remarried. If that's right, it may be one of the rules of their marriage. I wonder if divorcing and getting half his stock into "safe" hands was part of a plan anticipating the high-risk (as you and others see it) strategy or gambit he is taking now.

I don't think it will take years.

It is possible, a la Kirk Kirkorian, that a resolution could see a settlement including determining that the Philippines "opportunity" was a corporate opportunity and either the buyback stands or the Philippines casino/resort folds into Wynn Resorts Limited.

More than SW wants to trounce KO, he wants to beat Sheldon Edelson, in the spirit of competition, of course.

Or any combination of the above, like buying half of Okada's stock so he and Wynn have roughly equal shares.
