Drbes - You are basing all your newfound enthusiasm on NEW rumors

1. That AMD's yield have gone from the pits to Stratospheric levels

Now, these rumors come just two weeks from Jerry Sanders' latest mea culpa that AMD will NOT MEET it's 2,000,000 K6 shipment goal due to continued yield difficulties. Has two weeks been enough to indicate that a complete turn around has occurred?

2. AMD had shipped 250,000 K6's to Compaq.

Now, that would indicate an UPSIDE quarter million units shipped in Q4.

How could AMD announce a production shortfall on one day, and then ship a quarter million K6's in excess of previously anticipated orders just a few weeks later?

3. Compaq has made major strides to impliment a Build-To-Order program. Wouuld it seem plausible that they would order, purchase, take delivery and put into inventory 250,000 K6 devices when their corporate objective is to REDUCE inventories?

Rumors generated by the News Journalists.

Rumors.
