My friend Dave Beede, who owns the Starkey Store in Starkey, OR, has this on his web site. I'm amazed the state even wants to charge him fees so he can roast coffee. This government tyranny has got to STOP.

For 2012 we may be closing the store because of the economy.

This is not what we want, but the cost of business is more than what the stores income is. With the increasing number of governmental regulations and the Fees they impose on the small business it makes it almost impossible to keep the doors open.

Tamara wants to take over the store in May. She is in Big Sky Montana trying to build capital for the upcoming season and the season is not going well there.

I am planning to keep on Roasting Coffee and see how that will turn out, but the State wants to charge me Fees just to do that. So everything is still up in the air on that also. It depends where the customers want to buy good Fresh Roasted Coffee or be satisfied
with what the big stores put out.
