Okay, I see now what you're asking... I wouldn't want to commit more than maybe 20% or 25%, although 50% would also work well... the main thing is to make sure you can sleep at night with the amount of money exposed to market risk at any one time... remember, you could always trade the mini contract which is 1/5th the size of the big one, so this would give you a feel for the market without getting seriously hurt if the trade goes bad, it would reduce the gain and the risk to 1/5th the full contract, but always take the signals from the big contract, not the mini...... my account is very sizable right now so I can trade many large contracts without concern, but I certainly didn't start out that way... begin small, and always error on the side of safety...
