JPMorgan's head of equity derivatives strategy Marko Kolanovic issued a call on AppleApple (Nasdaq: AAPL) following this morning's 3 percent plunge in the stock. Shares have bounced off session lows, however have just recently taken another leg lower. The stock last traded at $536.03, down about 1.7 percent from Friday's close.

According to some Bloomberg headlines, Kolanovic believes Apple investors should be careful amid the current low volatility environment. The strategist pointed out traders are more prone to smaller market cap, riskier and less liquid stocks in such an environment.

When financial analysts start making well publicized positive pronouncements on companies that are already highly valued, it's because the stock has reached its peak and they want to drive demand up just a bit more as they try to liquidate their large stakes without negatively affecting prices. In other words: don't jump onboard now!
