Re tape, I hadn't considered the theft issue. It is a valid concern. I do have it covered automatically with my setup and protocols. I have bought those mobile rack removable frames, and two 6.4 GB HDs to go in them. One is for my home system, the other backs it up. I then take the backup HD to work, thus making all my home files available there too. Sometimes you just don't know what you are going to need. On weekends, I bring it home, copy any new files from the "WORK" folder to the home HD and then erase the entire Work HD backup partition and copy from the home HD again. It takes minutes instead of hours to back up the only partition that usually changes. Then, Monday morning the backup HD goes back to work. I used to do it every day, but it was too much hassle. Once a week is fine.
