Ridgeline (RLE.V) -- the biggest concern I had with this stock was whether this courtship of EOG's US operations would really bear fruit or not. Granted, Ridgeline had the initial success up in the Horn River but EOG is a huge company and EOG Canada and EOG US are no doubt manned by totally different groups and might as well be independent companies. Yesterday's news put that concern to rest.

I'm not sure that folks realize what a huge achievement RLE has accomplished here. Think minnow doing business with a whale. This sort of relationship is very rare in the oil business. The larger E&P companies tend to do business with the larger oil service companies, who's large footprint assures that they can stay up with the often breakneck pace of development. I'm going to date myself with this, but there used to be a saying that "no one ever got fired by using IBM". The EOG manager who decided to use Ridgeline for this Lomas Rojas facility is probably betting his illustrious EOG career on this choice. All of which speaks to how effective Ridgeline's technology must really be.

Now we just sit back and wait for the next inevitable analyst report. The strength with which the stock has now powered past the $1 mark would seem to imply that that price will now form a support line. There have been a lot of folks watching this stock that really liked the story but did not want to buy it before seeing more evidence that the water business would really get some traction down in the US. Such evidence has now been presented.
