Since you mentioned that Asian markets. Yahoo is showing that the Korean market closed down 4.08% to 485.43 on Saturday. I believe the only other Asian market that is open on Saturdays is the Taiwan market which closed up 1.73%.

No opinion on the effects.

Hi Jim -- thanks for posting

It should be interesting to see how these developments affect the US equity markets. On the one hand it suggests that it could be negative but I don't know to what extent these problems have alrady been factored into current expectations.
