You're right. There is a great deal of consensus at 9 BILLION years apart. 15 BILLION years apart represents the outside range of plausibility. If the time frame was pertinent, I would have stated it was the outside limit and not the most accurate estimate. However, my point was only to contrast it with the nonsense that they were both 6000 years old and built in the same week.

The earth did not exist until BILLIONS of years after the universe was formed! So the bible story is a myth invented by bronze age people steeped in ignorance and not a true account of things. What a surprise! Those absurd tales of cruelty and impossibilities seemed so PLAUSIBLE! (when I was three!) :-)
