Pub, > the improving economy will insure re-election of Obama....

Not if gas gets to $5/gallon. I noticed that the Democrats are trying to blame that on "speculators."

They're vulnerable here and they know it. Fortunately for them, they are the masters of distraction.

You're assuming the economy is improving. Minor blips don't count. The economy continues to be horrible and no reasonable person could consider it to be "better" if they look at the deficits Obama has created, the regulatory environment (which makes long-term reductions in unemployment impossible), and what Obama has done to the biggest single fiscal crisis facing America, health care costs.

Yes, there are stupid people who will find "improvement" in the fact that THEY are getting more freebies from the government.

The most important attribute of whichever R. becomes the candidate is for him to be able to explain to Americans why they should be willing to pass up handouts from the taxpayer to provide for a future for their children. Why government must shrink quickly to perhaps half its current size. Why we cannot compete in a global economy when a company like Apple chooses to build its products in China -- even as its CEO *BEGS* Obama to give him an environment to move that production to the U.S. As Jobs told Obama, "Those jobs aren't coming back."
