Waht a touching story! I think, though, that you ought to give the hen a name. Taht way it'll all seem so much sweeter and more personal, and before you plunge in the carving knife on Thursday the whole family can weep a little remembering her as she was when full of life instead of stuffing...

Hi Jim,
It is nice to see you over here. And I thought you just despised us because of our indulgence in thongs, jewelery, love slaves and frivolity. But you do like us (and I would add you really do but that has been overused lately. Poor Sally.)

The turkey tale was great. We are having disemboweled chickens, but only because I don't have the energy to get out to the store to buy a gobbler, and the chickens were already in the freezer.
