sm1th, If we don't, we will spiral towards 20% unemployment like Spain and Greece, countries which have allowed their labor prices to far exceed their value. A low wage job is better than a no wage non job. Hope you are not employing that we turn into a third rate country. If that would happen the US would have the biggest revolution that we have ever seen. Once individuals have experienced a specific standard of living taking away that standard of living and threatening their physical and security interest can result in unintended consequences when the masses revolt. Fear and hopelessness cause individuals to react in an unexpected behavior manner.
