Bearded one, >>Intel

I am going to defend Intel here. Intel has a business model and they communicate information relative to that model to the public. I listen to their conference call every quarter and they have been straight up. Now some people complain that Intel does not disclose some detail information but in my opinion they have the right to not do this. Now what Intel said last quarter was they do not have information where their microprossers are going, as far as PC asia and south american sales are concerned. This makes sense. One will have to go the Dell, CPQ and friends to find out the distribution of sales and are they slowing down. Also Intel is experiencing more short term orders now than in the recent past because of the build to order model expansion. Again Dell and the boys can give us information on this. Currently they are selling out the high end processors and are delivering a broad performance selection of the new II's. I heard Intel say the picture is murkey right now. A conserative investor after this conference call would hedge their positions until Intel can give better guidance. I think the whole tech sector is in this situtation except for disk drives and Memory. They know the dumping is occuring.

My short list of misleading statemetns from companies is CA (highly manipulated stock - suspect with the support of company management, who is trying hard to push CA stock toward $100 by it's own statements!!!)

and VLSI who made a repoted sale of Compas to AVANT for around $40 million which worked out to be actualy below $6 million
