Question to All: While the Yamaichi closing was interpreted as good news, isn't it possible that this was a misinterpretation? It seems that the US markets were assuming that this would be a wake-up call for the Japanese government to get their house in order. What if they don't, or can't because the problems are deeper than we thought? Isn't it quite possible(likely, even) that there are a number of firms engaged in illegal activities? Then this "positive news" could turn around and bite a lot of people in the butt. Any opinions?
