You've got a valid point.... So long as our elected pols are more worried about pleasing their fat cat financial backers the voice of the public will always come in second place with them. (That is why I suspect that it will actually take ONE MORE major financial crisis to open up any real open field running room for serious tax and loophole reform. The vested interests are normally just too powerful. It is only in times of crisis that their grip on political power loosens enough that reform becomes possible.)
