Corel's booth didn't seem that large. I hate to see what IBM paid for its booth.

The product that I was talking about when I said NC in my last post to you is officially called the Video Network Computer.
I found it very interesting on the software it plans to run.
Java based desktop communication suite
Java based web browser
Remote access to legacy server applications via a Java client
JVM from Javasoft
Linux operating system.

I couldn't find any other NC that had video capabilities so this could be a niche market for Corel right now but where is the office software to use on it. If they don't get their act together their will be other companies out in force in the future.

Of all the NCs I looked at only IBM had real Java applications (applets). IBM is definitely pushing E-suite which IMHO seems to be the future but who knows. It would have been nice to see COJ running on the VNC but it was no where to be seen.

Another thing that I noticed was a lot of new Net TV box manufactures. In the future I expect the TV and the computer to converge which plays well for the future of Java applications and if Corel can get its act together could have revenue from this in the future.
