Sam, thanks for the SEMI links! You said >>Now, if the industry can only convince us to get a new PC every 2.36 years...<<

After keeping an older (486DX) PC for about 5 years and upgrading
modem, HD and RAM, I have concluded that a new PC every 2.36 years
is a good idea AND would probably save money. And since I'm an
average guy, many others probably feel the same way. <g>

Sam,

Agreed. I was referring to disk drive industry as
yet another "no-limit poker" industry. I totally
agree that DRAM and chip industries are no-limit poker games.

Conclusion: I'd be very cautious in getting into
any disk drive companies.

Good luck

Sam & all, more info at japanbiztech.com.

Pay particular attention to the "currency crisis fallout" articles (updates what www.semi.org has on Asia-- seems much more pessimistic).
Also had an article about a Korean computer maker defaulting on bad debt today.
