A courthouse needs better security as the Judge had said. I do hope they find the guy. He has a serious poor judgement problem.

So far it appears the mutt somehow took the female deputy's .45 and shot her and for some reason stabbed the judge when he came to assist. It isn't making a lot of sense right now but they really aren't releasing much. I have to wonder why he stabbed the judge when he came to he aid rather than using the pistol. Facts are always sketchy from the new and I don't recall anything being reported accurately even when reporters were given a written fact sheet.

oops...here is a better description of events

The attack happened just after noon inside the courthouse in Montesano. Undersheriff Rick Scott said Davin was assigned to patrol duties, but happened to be at the office when court staff called and asked her to investigate a suspicious man at the courthouse. Scott said the man reportedly had a small knife and ended up in a confrontation with Davin. Judge Edwards saw the commotion and came down from the third floor to help the Davin.

During the struggle, Edwards was stabbed in the head and neck. Davin tried to pull her gun, but the suspect was able to knock her to the floor. He took Davin's gun and fired it twice, hitting Davin once in the shoulder. The suspect then took off on foot, still carrying Davin's gun.

The courthouse was cordoned off. All Grays Harbor County schools and county offices were placed in lockdown and residents were told to stay indoors.
