Not sure, if Brad goes ahead with plans for the new SI (if he does won't be for many months), it's something he will look at if enough people ask him.

For the YouTube video to be displayed within an SI post there has to be YouTube embed code behind the scenes (e.g. <iframe width=...). To make life easier for non programmers, and make life more difficult for hackers, all this code needs to be simplified/hidden from the user. The extent of what you are allowed to view is displayed in "raw text" mode if you want to do some of the work yourself.

Could a button be added for Scribd? Yes, but then so can many others. Like Ron said, it enough people want that sort of functionality, it obviously will be seriously considered.
