West Virginia Man Indicted in Election Fraud Threat CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man has been indicted after allegedly threatening election fraud investigators. James Matheny of Lincoln County faces two felony counts handed up Tuesday. Prosecutors say the 61-year-old Midkiff man brandished a semi-automatic pistol Feb. 28 when approached by an FBI agent and an investigator with the Secretary of State's office. The pair sought to question Matheny as they investigated absentee ballot fraud in the 2010 Democratic primary. Lincoln County Sheriff Jerry Bowman and Clerk Donald Whitten have both resigned and plan to guilty Wednesday to roles in the fraud scheme. Prosecutors say Matheny faces at least seven years in prison and a possible life term if convicted. Tuesday's indictment alleges assault with a deadly weapon on a federal officer and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. My Comment: They even cheat each other!
