Actually the display exists and its already on sale on the Galaxy Note, and the Exynos SoC exists and going through sampling and bumping up the yields. Even Samsung has said that is coming Q2 2012 (April-June).

I beg to differ. This is the review of the upcoming Galaxy note 10.1. The key word is upcoming. So the current Galaxy is about 2 generations behind on display. The earliest you can have a line of Galaxy that can compete on display resolution will be in 2013. So they will be out of the running for 2012 Christmas. If glass is in short supply, how do Samsung get the supply it needed to launch a major tablet this year? The 2nd hand Ipad 1 and Ipad 2 is going to flood the market in the next few months and every tablet maker will feel the pain since everyone one who buy a used Ipad won't buy a new android tablet. The pre-order delivery date for ipad 3 in US is already on 4/9ish. Apple has been building Ipad 3 since mid Jan and they have capacity to build may be 4-5 million units a month. So they should have enough unit to satisfy the launch. I think the key is how will the display sell the Ipad3. i.e. when the first mover show off their new Ipad 3 by playing movie etc., would it entice their friends to buy Ipad 3 also?. This will determine how many Ipad 3 will be sold this year.. So far I am optimistic base on the first batch of hand on review from the 30 minutes launch session..

Other than the addition of the S Pen, the Galaxy Note 10.1 doesn’t quite compete with the new iPad for specs, especially when it comes to screen resolution. While the wider aspect ratio of the Note will aide in multi-
app usage, the 1280×800 pixel resolution is quickly becoming the de facto “last generation” spec; to compete with the iPad, most new tablets will need to come to market with at least a 1080p screen.
