Where I live being the biggest national park is what we strive for. In the 1930's we used to mill our own grain now we ship it to Ontario and buy bread back. We produce most of the world's high grade uranium that we ship to Ontario to be processed into fuel. GM used to manufacture cars and trucks here now they are shipped in to us by rail. You are right we should have higher aspirations but have been sold out by a lack of imagination, innovation, easy money and most of all laziness.
