Your right Rob and Gordon.

The only way INTC can justify their share price and appease analysts is by trying to scare the computer user into buying the greatest and lastest micorprocessor.

Unless you are a graphic/multimedia intensive computer user, I would think the average person would be fine with your run of the mill 166mmx for everyday use. I use a 486 with 16 megs at work and for my needs (office and word and internet) it does just fine. Yes, it somewhat slow, but it does what I need it to do.

Though I don't wish bad things about INTC, I do find is amusing that they have been taking it on the chin with the PII. I don't think they expected that they would have to drop the price as much as they have as and as early as they have in the beginning of it's product cycle.

I also have found it interesting how Intel would cry about possible slow down during conference reports. Their startegy was/is brilliant. Lure the analysts to lower the company's EPS for the next quarter on fear of slow down-which would temporarily drop the stock price, then announce later on that the EPS estimate would be blown away by better than expected earnings. Very brilliant.

I hope that IDTI can do the same in the near future.
