Already a hit with consumers, Apple's (AAPL) iPad tablet is making major inroads with corporations.

More than one-in-five companies (22%) say they will be buying tablets for their employees during the second quarter, with Apple's iPad getting the lion's share of the sales, according to a survey by ChangeWave Research.

ChangeWave says 84% of companies planning to buy tablets in the next quarter expect to purchase iPads. That's the highest level of corporate demand ChangeWave has seen so far for the iPad. In a November survey, 77% of corporate tablet buyers planned to get iPads.

The latest ChangeWave report, released Tuesday, is based on a survey of 1,604 business buyers of information technology, conducted in February.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablet was a distant second with corporate tablet buyers. Just 8% of those planning to purchase tablets expected to buy Samsung's Galaxy Tab. That's down from 10% in November. Amazon.com's (AMZN) Kindle Fire was third, with 6% of corporate buyers.

AT&T (T) and Verizon Wireless were in a dead heat for top wireless service provider for tablets among corporate buyers. AT&T was the choice of 30% of survey respondents, with Verizon at 29%, ChangeWave said.

Apple's latest tablet, its third-generation iPad, is set for release on Friday.
