I have lightened up half an hour before closing. Afraid the nay sayers will take profit while I am away on vacation. Nevertheless, if you invest in quality stocks, there is no worry. Apple will not see 500 again in the near term, Phillip Morris will always be there and growing since the ME people think that clove cigarettes are better than Viagra. And the list goes on.

RW thanks for making the weather in Miami a pleasant one to enjoy.

Since I posted that we've seen an ugly downdraft and a nice upswing, which leaves us...pretty much at the same place in terms of the stock market. I've placed my bets. Make your own.

If you think it's all roses from here on out, be my guest, invest 100% stocks. A more prudent person wouldn't be so convinced that everything will come up roses, though. Not with the massive amount of systemic risk out there.

Interesting what happened tonite in MS and AL. It seems the split that has so divided this country for the past ten years or more is burrowing deep into the GOP. Does that mean the party is about to implode; that the party may splinter into two parties......a moderate one and a more conservative one; and that this is a precursor split that's about to happen nationwide. After all, its one thing to disagree about the right economics; its quite another to disagree over creationism and evolution; gay and interracial marriage, voting rights, etc. I am at a loss to decipher what is about to happen.
