They are famous? You are making stuff up again. Companies that offer health insurance to employees working less than 30 hours are in the minority, and Walmart has decided to stop offering it to employees whom work less than 24 hours.

What are your statistics as to the number fired before one year?

The article also states that not all members choose to ENROLL into the plan. That is their choice. They are free to do so. I do not have 100% coverage here because some employees choose to be covered under their spouses program.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc will no longer offer health insurance to new part-time U.S. employees who work fewer than 24 hours a week and will charge workers who use tobacco more for coverage as healthcare costs rise, the company said on Friday.

Not all of the company's 1.4 million U.S. employees sign up for its healthcare plans. Wal-Mart said it currently insures more than 1 million people, including workers' family members.

Wal Mart is a great American success story.
It has created a huge amount of wealth for people who invested in it throughout the years. Jobs were created for poor people with limited education giving them a chance for advancement. Wal Mart also helps lower income folks by providing food at a cost that beats the average grocery story. Hillary Clinton once served on the board of this great American company. You should be praising them for what they do to help the poor.

Union: China ‘Best Friend of American Worker’

Tuesday, 13 Mar 2012 02:58 PM

By Martin Gould

America’s biggest maritime union has presented its Best Friend of the American Worker award to the Premier of China, according to official reports from the Communist nation.

The International Longshoremen’s Association made the award to Wen Jiabao to mark China’s “great contributions in creating more job opportunities for U.S. workers,” the semi-official China Daily reported.

Chinese ambassador Zhang Yesui received the award on Wen’s behalf at a ceremony at the Port of Boston, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the first direct shipment to Beantown made by COSCO, the Chinese government owned shipping giant, the paper reported. ILA vice-president William McNamara presented the award.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin confirmed the award during a press conference, reported on the Chinese Embassy’s website. “The award … is to thank the Chinese Government for its efforts to encourage Chinese enterprises' investment in the U.S. and to promote bilateral economic cooperation and trade,” Liu said. “This gratitude is sincere and heartfelt.”

The ILA, which claims to represent 65,000 dockworkers, mainly on the eastern seaboard, makes no mention of the award on its website.
