I'm not sure your assumptions are correct (though I may be wrong), the reason being that MU was one of my first investments - at around 31 before it went below 18. I reduced my cost basis to about 24 and was happy to get out at 29, because its forward PE at that time was around 24 -well above its historic high( though its trailing PE was still pretty low). I then missed out on its run up to 55+, at which point it was selling at a level far higher than its PE history would have predicted.
