I think the Dow will hit 10,000 also and that Asian crisis is their
problem and I have probably lost some of what little mind is left..
The Dow can get inflated by foreign funds who don't want to lose
anymore in currency devaluation..as more money flows into well known
names which in twenty years will be a lot higher..(but who knows about
in two years :) )
It would seem that a paradigm shift has happened and people who
are employed in small startup businesses are prospering a lot more
than from people who are working for the big multinationals..who
seem to be much kinder to their CEOS and shareholders and less to
the average employee...I notice ads for startup companies where even
stock benefits are being offered..
People are using the US market as a safe haven..they have been
conditioned..supposedly emerging markets have this explosive quality
to them on the upside and downside..
What I want to know is if so many Japanese investors have gotten
burned by the Japanese market and it is still in their memory..how
will the Japanese get back into their market?
So much of the US job creation is from domestic companies ...my
goodness we are still hearing about more corporate cutbacks..I
would really like to see how much of the economy is dependent on
exports..
also with the devaluations...the goods and labor from abroad will
once again be much lower and somehow people will use that as a rational..Also there will down the road cause further undoing of
the western economy..I am certain deep pocketed people will take
advantage of some of the fire sales overseas and start putting their
money over there to buy real estate and factories etc that will need
buyouts to survive..I don't think you really need the IMF..just smart
business people looking for cheap assets in a somewhat free country..
If anything..some people are probably rejoicing..
Also supposedly the US is issuing less debt so people are assuming that if treasuries are dumped there will be eager buyers..
