I appreciate the sentiment, but the sales of Android (even much more so than Mac) for desktop/laptop use do not connect with the reality you describe. I love Android and would like to see it do better; it is indeed kicking arse in the cell phone OS department. On the desktop/laptop, that has been and continues to be a pipe-dream. In tablets... I think Android could gain some on Apple. Apple's future will continue to be as a cell phone company, and its fortunes will rise and fall with how it does there.
