Baldrige Quality-Award Winner to be Exclusive Provider of Strategic Document Services for Advertising Giant Leo Burnett in Chicago

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Xerox Business Services (XBS), winner of a 1997 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, today announced an exclusive five-year agreement to deliver high-quality color and digital document services to the world's eighth largest advertising agency, Leo Burnett, at its Chicago headquarters.

Leo Burnett, whose clients include McDonalds, Hallmark and Procter & Gamble, will employ a portfolio of Xerox color and black-and-white digital copiers, printers and publishing devices, along with imaging technologies and consulting services, for efficient production of documents that reflect the agency's heralded imagination and creativity.

"Executing creative concepts is our livelihood," said Rick Capps, executive vice president and chief information officer, Leo Burnett and President, Capps Studio, the in-house graphic studio of Leo Burnett. "We evaluated a variety of products and imaging methods and selected Xerox products because of their superior color quality, reproduction clarity and equipment reliability."

Xerox Regal and DocuColor color copier/printers will enhance the presentation quality of Leo Burnett's four-color illustrations and graphics, Capps said, allowing them to be more vibrant and life-like. The agency will also gain a competitive advantage from reduced production times and the ability to deliver high-quality concepts to clients in the shortest possible time.

"When an advertising powerhouse like Leo Burnett chooses XBS to produce, service and maintain their crucial, everyday document-related activities, it says a lot for our technology and people," said William McDermott, senior vice president, U.S. Operations, Xerox Business Services."

Xerox Business Services will administer the equipment on-site and provide key operators for larger, centralized document machines. In addition, Xerox will ensure that products and capabilities are upgraded as new technology becomes available.

Xerox Business Services, the fastest growing division of Xerox Corporation, is the worldwide leader in document outsourcing, serving more than 4,000 client companies in 36 countries and up to 4 million people each day.
