>>All these Apple fanboys celebrating tablet victory lap ... before MS has even released a tablet OS X-D<<

I remember when a few people were telling Apple longs that we were too happy about the success of the iPod, and that we should be very afraid of the Zune, the iPod Killer.

People are celebrating the launch of the third generation iPad before MS has even released a tablet OS. Apple had already sold around 45 million iPads by the end of 2011, and will probably reach 100 million by the end of the year. User satisfaction with the product is very high, as is excitement about the new version. I think that's reason for shareholders to celebrate.

Folks love all those tablet-optimized apps, too.

You think Samsung screens are going to look better in some way on the Samsung tablets? Do you think they'll look better than the screens LG and Sharp will make for Apple as well because Samsung can't produce enough of them? Could be, I suppose, though I note that Samsung presently doesn't offer a tablet with a screen that comes anywhere close to the one they're making for Apple.

We'll just have to see how well Windows 8 tablets do. Maybe they'll do very well. Maybe not. Either way, I predict that the iPad will continue to roll. Apple is not a stranger to competition. I don't think Tim Cook is afraid of Windows 8, and neither am I.

PS: I didn't realize I was posting on the wrong thread. Sorry. I know you don't like a lot of well considered, logical arguments cluttering up the place. I'll go back to the party now.
