I also bet that sometime next year, NBER will declare that there was a recession in 2012. NBER always takes about a year after a recession ends to declare that one existed. We can use the following website as the source:

You said the first half of the year... with confidence. I would be happy to bet, real money, Ted or somebody can hold it, that there won't be a recession declared for the first half of 2012. Say, $50?

As for the stock market, no bets. Random walk. Like betting on the weather six months from now.
