The BB Playbook with 64 GB of storage is 299.00 with free shipping. Son-in-law and I have picked one up. He bought his even though they have an ipad. Wife is going to inherit the ipad. Probably selling the BB playbook at cost, but get them out there and then support them. Also intend to get the bluetooth keyboard.

We are going to use them when we travel to Europe in June. Screen size should be close to the video display on AC flights. Figure some 5 or 6 movies should fit.

As you say, a lot of unnecessary items on the ipad (laptops as well). Once you get past the internet, Word, Excel, Outlook, a financial program, Adobe, Angry Birds, what else is there to need?

Cheers
