RIM is no Nortel. RIM is very profitable, has lots of cash and did not pay outrageous amounts for its acquisitions. The shorts were right from 70 down to 13, but now it is time for them to cover. They had a great run.

With the stock closing above 14.25 US, my daily model has RIM now in an UPTREND. Initial price target is 15.80 to 16.30. Also of note, today's volume in New York was twice the average for past month.

Sir John Templeton always remarked that the best time to buy was when pessimism reigned supreme. These days, it's pretty hard to find an analyst with anything good to say about RIM.
