I think Obama & co are very worried. They just don't understand why the economy is not recovering, and are doing their best to talk up the very anemic recovery we've seen. They know $5 gas will kill them but Obama is desperate to hold his oil-hating base (another sign of weakness). That's why they are ginning up nonsense memes like "the Republican war on women". I think Rush is right -- they must have been really shocked when new polls early this week showed the President's approval dropping to 41% just when they thought they had found a formula to improve it.
