Ayn Rand never questioned how the sheriff of Nottingham obtained the wealth that he possessed? She didn't question how "royalty" could justify laying claim to entire territories as their own property. It was taken by force or conquest in a "might makes right", and denied to the rest of the people. There is a point, IMO, where we should be seriously concerned about how much wealth and money an individual person should control. $1 Billion? $1 Trillion? I don't know where the threshold should be.. But I do know that the more wealth held in the hands of the few, especially when obtained via legal loopholes, or white collar theft (or taxpayer funded bailouts), the greater the economic imbalances that arise. Right now the rich are getting richer, at the expense of the common man.. I'm not much for liberal ideology, but even I am aghast when I see bankers taking taxpayer bailouts and then paying themselves millions in bonuses. How much money can someone accumulate without losing their connection and empathy with the rest of humanity? Hawk
