Hello again, Jim. I don't know if you do much with charts but here is
the current one on APAT:
207.95.154.130
The chart is interesting because, among other things, the Bollinger
bands are beginning to narrow again. This happened previously in June
and October, just before significant moves upward. In any case, the
rise of the lower Bollinger band now provides strong support under the
stock price. As a minimum that makes the stock a risky case of "dead
money" for ShortSellers... And possibly a good run-up candidate for
the momentum players.. All of which is irrelevant to the long term
investors <g>
Keep that thought of January golf drifting through your dreams,
Jim. The day will come! And I'll give you periodic updates as you
welcome the wife in from current snowblower operations.
Just keep hitting 'em <g> Duane

Jim, Good Evening, looks like we have a good discussion about Shorting going on, now that all parties are using civil language. My personal view is that I do much better shorting fairly liquid stocks, though I have no objection to others using approaches that suit them. Most of the more liquid stocks have Puts available, also, and I like to buy deep in the money (ITM) Puts when the market gets overbought. I used to buy "slightly" ITM Puts and found out they didn't decline as much as I would have liked -- just got a premium expansion.
BTW, SI Management has reiterated their stated policy, which briefly translates as "Max Freedom of Speech, but NO Abuse":
For those interested in the process, for violations, here it is (with a bow to Larry Sherwood for the verbiage):
"You send Jill, the SI webmistress, an email detailing your complaint. Please make sure you have a strong case that the offender is violating the stated policies of SI. I know for a fact that SI does not particularly relish the task of being cop/nanny. However, they do want certain minimum standards upheld.
There is an occasionally expressed canard that SI's efforts to keep discourse within certain parameters is a violation of someone's "right" to free speech. Balderdash! Nobody's right to free speech is a guarantee of a platform from which to spew forth.
SI owns this forum and we are all here at their sufference."

Hope this clarifies that for those who wrote me the emails, which I appreciated, by the way. And I hope we can get on with a civil discussion based on FACTS .
Shot a 91 on a tough course today, Jim... maybe I'm getting old <g>
Cheers!! Duane
