No educated and rational person doubts the core tenets of evolution: That life evolved on earth from basic simple life and evolved into all modern species (with millions of species lost) is not armchair theoretics. The genetic record and the fossil record give us reliable information as to when the various species EVOLVED on our planet...and when many of them went EXTINCT. There is no evidence to support the idea that some ignorant farmer popped by once in a while to drop say dinosaurs down and then see that fail (after millions of years of successful struggle) and then say, "whoops...back to the drawing board.
